WATERFALL HIKE ​+ VOLCANO-COOKED DINNER

We prepare this unique take on a meat stew and lower it into a volcanic vent in Ribeira Grande, where it will slow-cook for about 6 hours. Our easy 3-hour (7.5 km) circular hike takes us through a spectacular waterfall. Upon our return the traditional cozido picnic meal (just-lifted from the ground) will be waiting. Meal includes salad, main course + dessert, paired with local wines and served by the hosts on site or at Quinta Minuvida. Join us on a walking tour through orchards, narrow lanes and landmarks, including the fishing port, main church and the local bar scene, where fishermen mingle in between catches. Tour will include special stops, including a visit to a traditional Holy Ghost room, part of century old island-wide religious, yet colorful, festivities.
